Most U.S. heat deaths have been concentrated in poor, minority, and marginalized communities.
Fact: Columbus has the fastest-growing urban heat island in the country.
The residents of Cambria Addition can now stand out as a viable community within the Far South Commission area. The signage installed last October will go a long way in recognizing that this community has value.
The Ohio EPA approved the cleanup plan for former Closed Loop Glass sites. The company operated facilities on the south side that failed inspection for lead contamination.
With input from the Department of Neighborhoods and the City Attorney, updated ByLaws are expected to be presented soon.
On Saturday, August 15, 2020, Commissioners Delores Richardson, Lori Fisher, and Eileen Neale went door to door to gather feedback from residents of Cambria Addition on the impact of Ace Iron & Metal on their neighborhood. Two youth volunteers also helped distribute flyers along Glendower Street.
