On Saturday, August 15, 2020, Commissioners Delores Richardson, Lori Fisher, and Eileen Neale went door to door to gather feedback from residents of Cambria Addition on the impact of Ace Iron & Metal on their neighborhood. Two youth volunteers also helped distribute flyers along Glendower Street.
Some of the community’s concerns included:
- The noise from trucks in the area all night
- Dumping of trash in the neighborhood
- Lack of school transportation. Columbus City Schools wanted a student to walk to Marion -Franklin. The parent had to fight to get bus transportation. She was concerned about safety of her son walking along Groveport Road, due to heavy truck and pedestrian traffic.
- Heavy Dust Issues from Ace Iron & Metal
Commissioner Neale also noticed that Cambria Addition had no signage for the neighborhood. She suggested to the Commission that a neighborhood sign to help identify Cambria as a viable community be erected at the corner of Glendower and Groveport Road. The Commission will explore opportunitie for signage.
