40,000 Kids Receive PLAY Scholarships

Columbus Recreation and Parks’ programs, camps, classes and sports offer kids much more than something to do – they help kids develop social and academic skills, provide opportunities for physical activity and serve as a safe, supportive place for kids to spend time. The PLAY Scholarship Fund was created because the City of Columbus believes all kids deserve the chance to play regardless of ability to pay. Financially-challenged families with children 18 years and younger can apply for a PLAY Scholarship for any fee-based program offered through Columbus Recreation and Parks. Since 1993, more than 40,000 children have received PLAY scholarships,

Youth Baseball Park Gets Cutting-edge Improvements

Sammons Park (formerly Sills Park) has been a big part of kids’ recreational baseball for decades. This park is one of only five parks in Columbus where our youth baseball leagues are played.
